September 28th 2009

Nearly eight years ago, I ran for State Chairman because I believed our state needed stronger voices in the Republican Party.  We hadn't won the Governor's office in 16 years and many voters didn't know what Hoosier Republicans stood for.  By electing Governor Mitch Daniels, we changed that.

But today, our Party faces similar challenges nationally.  The Republican Party suffered significant losses in 2006 and 2008.  We lost elections, in part, because we lost credibility on fiscal issues, and we lost our way.

It is time for new leaders to step up!

That is why I am supporting Luke Messer!  Luke is a proven leader, and he is the only candidate who can truly represent the next generation of Republican leadership for our District.

As State Republican Chairman, I saw first-hand that winning tough races requires candidates who possess a unique combination of leadership skills, fundraising ability and grassroots strength.  Luke Messer has all of those characteristics.

Last week the Indianapolis Star reported that Luke Messer ranks among the Top 25 congressional challengers NATIONALLY because of the record-breaking money he raised in the last quarter.

Luke Messer is running a grassroots campaign with financial strength.  Luke has received dozens of endorsements from current and former elected and party officials; he consistently has the most volunteers at grassroots events, and, a modern indicator of success, Luke has more than 1400 supporters on his Facebook page - that's nearly three times the incumbent Congressman and almost four times the other candidates in the race.

By every measure, Luke is the only candidate who can win this Primary and represent the future of the Republican Party.

Thank you for all you have done and will do for the Republican Party.

Sincerely,

Jim Kittle

P.S.  I'm convinced that Luke is the only candidate who can win this Primary and is by far the best candidate to represent the future of the Republican Party.
